Vinyl Flooring Installation Methods
Floating
Floating installation is an adhesive-free option that is laid over a subfloor, cushion or vapour barrier system. Floating installations are popular due to the fact that this method can be laid over existing flooring, existing adhesive or anything involving residual asbestos.
Glue Down
Glue down installation involves using an adhesive to adhere your flooring to its base, which makes it a long-term installation. The adhesive is spread along the subfloor which will, in turn, hold your Luxury Vinyl Planks or Luxury Vinyl Tile firmly in place. Glue down installation is particularly important in areas that receive an excessive about of traffic – typically healthcare or retail environments or areas that receive heavy rolling traffic such as shopping carts or dollies.
